EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Join photojournalist and Canon Live Learning instructor Dave Henry in a macro safari of animals and insects from the rainforest. Dave will discuss and demonstrate the camera equipment, lenses and techniques used in creating macro photographs of the live animals available in our classroom for you to photograph. A naturalist will also be available to answer your questions about each animal’s characteristics.

We’ll begin with a clinic on how to best use macro twin light flash units and macro lenses on live animals and insects. Then we’ll break for an hour for an included lunch.

After lunch, we’ll begin our “safari” to photograph our live and natural history subjects.

Our live animals include insects, arachnids, amphibians, lizards, and snakes from rainforests around the world.

In addition to our live animals, we’ll also be supplying mounted butterflies, rocks, fossils, sea shells, and other natural subjects.

If you’d like to participate but don’t have a macro lens or macro flash, don’t worry. We’ll have some loaner macro lenses and twin light macro flash units available for you to work with.

The class is very limited to give everyone access to our subjects so sign up early.

What you will learn:
