Basics of DSLR Photography
201 California St.

If you’re new to DSLRs and you've recently stepped up to a Canon EOS Digital SLR camera, this class will give you the information, insight, and inspiration to really take advantage of your new camera and get the most out of it.
This class is ideal if you're getting started: there's no pressure to learn about manual settings right at the start; instead, we assume you'll want to use your camera's automatic features much of the time as you learn your camera.
We'll cover basics like the commonly used controls, explain when to use different shooting modes, give you an understanding of autofocus, image settings like RAW and JPEG, and even provide some insight into the world of lens possibilities.
But it doesn't stop there... we'll then take that information and show you how to apply it to common shooting scenarios to get the best results, whether you shoot landscapes, portraits, action shots or just shots of the family on your next vacation. No matter which Canon EOS Digital SLR camera you may have invested in (even if you own an older model), this session at Canon's downtown San Francisco showroom will remove much of the mystery of your camera's features and open your eyes to the possibilities that await.
What you will learn:
• Fundamental basics of EOS DSLR Cameras
• Focusing techniques
• Clear understanding of the buttons and dials on your camera
• Differences between JPEG and RAW
• Different shooting modes
• When to use flash
• Lens choices
• Techniques for great pictures in different shooting situations
