EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Phoenix-based award nominated internationally published music photographer Jim Louvau will take you from the trenches of the photo pit and beyond in his first interactive music photography master class. Louvau will share his tips and recipes for including technical camera settings and gear, getting started in the business, networking, how to shoot for a publication, setting up credentials, post-processing, copyright, and surviving in the current photography climate. Louvau's story is a little different from most photographers since he has also been singing and performing for the past 20 years where he met some of his biggest musical heroes and created lasting relationships.

In a live setting, Louvau has covered some of the biggest names in every genre including Paul McCartney, Guns N' Roses, U2, Madonna, Black Sabbath, Beyonce, Kiss, and has photographed over 1,500 concerts and festivals. His images have been viewed over 3 million times and he is regarded as one of the most trusted shutterbugs in music. He'll explain what it takes to get to the highest levels of shooting in stadiums and arenas as well as honing your skills in local bars and clubs.

You'll hear the stories behind iconic images he's captured in studio where he has worked one on one with legendary artists such as Chester Bennington (Linkin Park), Maynard James Keenan (Tool/A Perfect Circle), Alice Cooper, Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour), Tim Skold (Marilyn Manson), John 5 (Rob Zombie), Robby Krieger (The Doors), and more.
