Flash with compact Speedlites are one of the hottest topics that photo enthusiasts want to learn about, but it's hard to dive in without a sound understanding of the fundamentals. In tonight's session, Canon EOS users are in for a treat -- one of Canon's leading technical experts will fill in those blanks, and give a solid foundation from which you can expand your Speedlite imagery.

Tonight's session is all about arming Canon shooters with information about how the E-TTL flash system functions, and how to use tools such as Flash Exposure Compensation, Flash Exposure Lock, and even specialized features like the Multi (stroboscopic) mode. Here's the key: if you understand how E-TTL flash exposure works with a single Speedlite on-camera, you're nearly all of the way prepared to be in total control when you begin to explore wireless, off-camera E-TTL flash. This session will be a great preliminary event before our more advanced Speedlite sessions at the Canon Experience Center. And, even if you simply want to improve your flash photography with a single flash, tonight's session will be time well spent.

In addition to some richly illustrated on-screen content that unlocks some of the mysteries of E-TTL flash, we'll do a few live demonstrations as well to show how these principles work in practice. This is a real opportunity for Canon shooters of various experience levels, even professionals, to really understand how their Speedlites and cameras can work to create great images.
