EVENT DESCRIPTION:

What if you didn’t need a crew and a truck full of lights to go out and tell the stories you want to tell? Can directors without a technical background beat the learning curve and create powerful images with a smaller crew?

During this seminar, Rubidium will explore how a new generation of digital cinema cameras are empowering filmmakers everywhere and allowing non-cinematographers to produce professional results through a basic understanding of lighting and new post technologies.

We’ll explore the flexibility and advantages of Canon’s new RAW light format, how to mitigate its limitations and look at simple rules that help directors and one-man-crews get the shots they need in the time they have.

Rubidium Wu is an Australian Writer/Director who has lived and worked in the US for 10 years. He created the popular web series ‘Silent City’, funded through Kickstarter and the feature length thriller ‘Brooklyn Tide’. His YouTube channel, Crimson Engine, explores new filmmaking techniques and technologies.
