EVENT DESCRIPTION:

With discussion of resolution, dynamic range, and bit depth at the forefront the industry today, “Through the Looking Glass” is a series of seminars meant to shine light on arguably the most important element of the image creation train: Lenses.

Before the sensor captures or the processors encode, your image passes through the optical elements of the lens in front of your camera. No single component in the camera has as much influence over your image as the lens, but how much do you really know about it?

Through the Looking Glass is an optics-focused session instructed by industry guru Suny Behar. Through both theory and live demonstrations, Suny Behar not only what explains the critical components of a lens, but the unique characteristics and personalities of the most commonly used cinema lenses from a variety of manufacturers. This session is focused primarily on the cinema primes of the industry at large and will feature lenses from many manufacturers as reference.

Live demonstrations showing distortion, color shift, sharpness, bokeh and other key lens characteristics to look for when lensing your next project ensures an educational and memorable experience at the Canon Burbank.
