EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Join fellow industry professionals for this installment of From Set to Screen, covering ACES color managed workflows. The Academy Color Encoding System is being adopted as the go-to color management workflow of the industry. ACES can help you keep your "look" consistent, through every stage of production, from the set, to VFX, and the final color grade.

From Set to Screen will consist of a panel discussion that includes an overview of the why, what, and how of ACES, followed by a discussion between a DIT, VFX Supervisor, and Colorist (names to be announced shortly, subject to availability) to all give their take on how ACES can help future-proof their work for HDR and other future technologies.

After the discussion, experience a live demonstation of the ACES workflow. A model will be lit and filmed utilizing Canon’s EOS C700, outputting a live ACESproxy image to a DIT Cart where audience members can build an on-set look and style. We’ll then review the footage in Canon’s 4K DI Suite, ingested into the SGO Mistika system and viewed with a 4K Barco Projector.

The Academy Color Encoding System is sure to find its way to a production near you, so get ahead of the curve and understand how many current Canon products support ACES, having earned the ACES logo designation from the Academy.
